The College Board, the national educational organization, is conducting a search for a DevOps Engineer II for our Technology department. This position is based in our Reston, Virginia office.

About the role

The DevOps Engineer II will design, develop and implement solutions that include not only the code that services business functionality, but the underlying infrastructure required to run that code and the systems required to deploy it.

Additionally, candidate will be responsible for complex coding, managing parts of ongoing projects and closely adhering to deadlines. Candidate will also take responsibility for creating design specifications and preparing technical documentation.

The DevOps Engineer II will leverage knowledge and experience in DevOps practices, automation, infrastructure orchestration, configuration management and continuous integration to assist College Board in implementing and leveraging a growing set of services and features to run mission-critical applications.

The successful candidate will be a highly communicative team player with experience in AWS technologies and comfortable with traditional and cloud infrastructure.

About you

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

* Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in relevant technical positions

* Software Engineering Experience: Proficiency in authoring code in JavaScript, Python, and/or Bash

* Strong knowledge of cloud computing, especially AWS services

* Experience in monitoring. Be proactive to identify problems before they happen.

* Relevant understanding of networking, Database, security, and operating system concepts

* Experience in CICD tools such as Jenkins

* Excellent written and verbal communication, able to collaborate and rally support

* Familiarity with :

* Full stack development with REACT, Node.js, and AWS services including AWS Lambda

* Data science and machine learning with Python/R, open-source analytical/plotting tools/packages, and AWS services

* DevOps process and Agile/Scrum Methodology

* Orchestration/Configuration Management and Continuous Integration technology (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc.)

* Version control platforms (e.g. Git or BitBucket)

* Networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP

* Atlassian tools: JIRA, and Confluence

* Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
