Senior Producer Team: Production, Creative Services Status:? Full-time/Regular/Exempt The Senior Producer manages the production of promotional materials for PBS, ensuring that deliverables are produced on time, on budget, and on creative brief. In all work, the Senior Producer maintains a viewer-focused and creative perspective, allowing for thoughtful, complete, and effective delivery of media production assets. The position also serves as a technical resource to members of the Creative Services department, which includes evaluating and improving process and workflows. ? Essential duties will include, but are not limited to : Coordinate with creative directors, producers, designers, external creative agencies, strategy teammates, internal stakeholders, and paid media representatives to ensure that all Creative Services deliverables are produced, approved, and delivered on time, within budget, and without errors. Collaborate with production staff and engage freelance producers/project managers as needed. Establish and maintain production schedules; disseminate plans, specs, negotiated deadlines, and schedules to production teams. Manage rights clearances as needed. Coordinate internal and external approval of promotional materials and other deliverables. Manage project progress communication internally to supervisor, strategy, and creative areas, and externally as needed with show producers, member stations, and vendors. Manage budgets for all assigned projects and advise on departmental operational needs, e.g. staff and software upgrades based on industry trends. Bid out jobs as needed; draft contracts for external vendors. Coordinate with Marketing Strategy to ensure that final media plans are delivered to production in time to meet deadlines. Supervise and traffic all deliverables to internal and paid media outlets by deadline. Create and manage project timelines, schedules, and detailed project budgets; negotiate agreements with talent and vendors. Supervise on location film/talent shoots as necessary. Requirements for success : 5 years? production and project management experience focusing on the life-cycle of multiple assignments/projects, including experience working with third-party vendors. 2 years in television communications, advertising, and/or public relations. Bachelors? degree in TV/Film Production, Communications, or Advertising and Public Relations, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Experience with digital advertising, social media, and emerging media technologies. Experience working with advertising agencies negotiating costs and managing creative concepting and campaign deliverables. Experience managing staff preferred. Experience drafting talent releases and project agreements. Extensive knowledge of video production industries and ability to interpret spec requirements Working knowledge of video and audio production and post-production best practices Working knowledge of vendors and industry; awareness of current digital trends Knowledge of post-production software (e.g., Final Cut, Avid, After Effects) preferred Knowledge of photo rights/footage clearance A penchant for sharing knowledge of technical skills and project management processes Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with creative staff, production peers, account management and strategy teams Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills Research and analytical skills Extremely organized with excellent attention to detail A self-starter who can work in a team environment, and be flexible and multi-task Assertive but diplomatic, and able to deal effectively with all levels of management, internal and external PBS is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Women, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities ?
