Must have at least 5+ years of safety and health experience within distribution, warehousing or manufacturing operations. Position will be responsible for mitigating risk and promoting safety and wellness for (3) local distribution/warehousing sites in the Northern Virginia, Washington, DC and Maryland area totaling (500) employees and over (100) trucks. The position will report into a Corporate Director of Safety and Health.
Position will build and drive safety and risk management initiatives at distribution and warehousing locations in the region. Ability to develop and implement training initiatives, handle workers compensation case management, ergonomics, DOT (preferred experience but not required) and create wellness programs for team members. Personality traits should include being innovative and creative, analytical, strong influencing skills and approachable.
Key Responsibilities of this position include: 5 years minimum of progressive safety experience within distribution or industrial operations Bachelor s degree in Safety or technical field Strong program development, ergonomics, training and workers compensation experience Ability to travel in the local area
