What You'll Get to Do:











PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face.







You will be responsible for handling Sustainment Engineering, Tier III troubleshooting and incident resolution on an international network. You will work closely with the network provisioning team, the network operations center, distant end, hub facilities and vendors to isolate the problems and provide a resolution. You will have a wide range of knowledge, maintain and provide complex technical support at the Tier III level, testing and troubleshooting for a wide area network (WAN) and should be able to demonstrate exceptional knowledge of both satellite communications and router based networks.

+ Serve as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies



+ Plans and coordinates implementation of Core network devices



+ Forecasts software and hardware upgrades and vulnerabilities to Core network devices and special projects within the network.



+ Automates statistical research and reports



+ Prepares, tests, implements and operates computer programs for modeling and simulation tools



+ Performs future worth economic selection studies



+ Plans, tests, recommends, and implements network solutions



+ Provides network documentation, training, and guidance to other teams or groups within the organization



+ Provides team leadership to less experienced analyst



+ Consults with users and evaluates requirements, recommend designs, plan projects, and coordinate tasks for installation of networks



+ Develops network performance criteria and measurement methods



+ Develops alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities



+ Responsible for the planning and management of large network and telecommunications projects or significant segments of a large complex project



+ Analyzes and resolves technical problems for new and established networks



+ Troubleshoots and resolves complex network production problems



+ Conducts technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system



+ Recommends network solutions for short-, medium-, and long-range network projects



+ Installs, configures and maintains network components



+ Works as a team member with other technical staff, such as systems to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems



+ Works with vendors to resolve complex network problems



+ Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network



+ Documents network problems and resolutions for future reference.







Required Qualifications:





+ TS/SCI with poly is required



+ BA/BS and minimum of seven years of telecommunication analysis experience



+ The individual should have expert-level knowledge of Juniper and Cisco equipment to include certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, CCNP, JNCIP, etc.



+ Must have experience with protocols such as MPLS, BGP, OSPF, etc.



+ Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders



+ Must be able to provide rotational Tier III on-call after hours support



+ Some travel might be required









Desired Qualifications:



Experience working on advanced routing issues, cloud services and long-haul circuits.
