**Job Description**

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting shipboard rigging to include: Moving Ship Board Pumps, Valves, Motors, Electronic Equipment etc. Will be responsible for removal of rigging items on and off the ships and will handle the rigging process from start to finish.



Begin to learn and understand the following skills/processes:



+ Anchor Chain: Assisting with transport load/unload trailers/pallets

+ Wheels (Hubs/Blades/CCP System): Assisting with proper sling/grommet hook up hull

+ Shafting (dry-dock related): method of removal - pad eye placement select gear and shaft transporting trailer/boom dolly

+ Assist with Deck Machinery (Cranes/Cargo Booms):

+ wires remove/reeve system/blocks

+ booms [ABS quadrennial] remove/install [proper method/gear]

+ blocks remove/reinstall [ABS quadrennial]

+ testing set up, [Navy Test] [ABS Test]

+ B&A Crane remove/reeve wire ropes

+ B&A Crane boom removal [method/select gear/block/transport]

+ B&A Crane testing [set up, test]

+ Become familiar with the electronic equipment procedure and inspection sheet for all CIC sensitive, all computers, all circuit breakers, all ac units, all cooling coils, all laundry and all galley equipment

+ Become familiar with the staging procedure

**Required Skills and Education**

**Required education: High School/GED**



+ Minimum 6 months experience in heavy industrial environment.

+ Must be able to work at extreme heights.

+ Must be able to work on scaffolding.

+ Must be able to work in confined spaces.

+ Must be able to read a ruler.

+ Job requires pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying 50 lbs.

+ Must have a valid drivers license.

+ Must be willing and able to work all shifts.



**Preferred Skills and Education**

Minimum 6 months experience in Ship Repair.
